Chocolate Cherry Jubilee Cake

My mom has been making this recipe for my family for as long as I can remember. It’s my sister’s favorite birthday cake, and probably mine as well! It’s especially good cold in a glass of milk…

Instructions #

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F
  2. Grease and flour the pan
  3. Mix cake ingredients together in a large bowl
  4. Beat 2 minutes after combined at high speed
  5. Pour into the pan
  6. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean.
  • 9x12 pan: 32-36 minutes
  • 10x15 pan: 19-24 minutes
  • Bundt pan: 36-40 minutes

Ingredients #

  • 1 Package of Devil’s food or Dark Chocolate Cake Mix
  • 1 21oz. can of cherry pie filling
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp. almond extract (can substitute Vanilla for nut free)

Baking Time: #

9x12 pan - 32 to 36 minutes 10x15 pan - 19-24 minutes Bundt pan - 36 to 40 minutes

Frosting #

Instructions #

  1. Mix sugar, butter, and milk in a sauce pan
  2. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly
  3. Boil for 1 minute
  4. Add chocolate chips
  5. Pour over warm cake

Ingredients #

1 cup sugar 5 tbls butter 1/3 cup milk 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

10x15 (For frosting lovers) #

1 1/2 cups sugar 8 tbls. butter 1/2 cup milk 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Glaze for bundt cake #

Ingredients #

1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips 1 tbls butter 2 tbls. milk 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Instructions #

  1. In saucepan blend chocolate chips, butter, and milk over low heat until chocolate melts, stirring constantly
  2. Remove from heat, stir in powdered sugar until smooth
  3. If needed, add a few more drops of milk for desired consistentcy
  4. Spoon over cooled cake
